I’m going to keep this post somewhat short and sweet because I think there are tons of other very in-depth blog posts out there on the basics of LTK. What I don’t think there are tons of resources on is how to actually make more money on the app or which retailers you should be linking. So, if you’re looking for those resources be sure to check out my other blog posts.
But, in case you are newer to affiliate marketing and find yourself asking the question “how does like to know it work?” hopefully this is helpful to you.
What is LTK?
LTK (formerly Rewardstyle) is an affiliate marketing platform that bloggers and social media influencers use to earn income off products they promote. Influencers can post shoppable images and videos with direct links to products in which they earn commission on if the viewer purchases.
For the purposes of this article, we’ll be addressing what LTK is from the viewpoint of a creator. If you are a consumer trying to figure out how to shop your favorite influencers finds, I’d refer to this or this article.
How do I get a Creator Profile on LTK?
To become a creator, you must apply and get approved by LTK. The good news is you don’t have to have a huge following to get approved though. You simply need to have active, consistent content and an engaged following. Don’t be discouraged if you get denied at first, you can reapply.
Which Retailers are on LTK?
There are over 5,000 current retailers on LTK with more being added! This is a huge benefit to bloggers because instead of applying to each stores specific affiliate program, they have access to them all in one place. Aside from Amazon Storefront, I’d say most influencers link through LTK instead of direct retailers. It’s just easier, more efficient, and a time saver.
How Do I Post my first LTK image?
All you really need is the creator app downloaded to your phone to get started! You will then be able to upload your image or video and tag your products. You’ll then want to write out a caption that includes keywords related to your post. After that, you’ll hit publish!
How Do I Get Paid on LTK?
LTK pays out every two weeks on closed commissions if you have earned at least $25. It’s important to be aware that as soon as you see a sale come through, you won’t be paid on it right away. There’s a commission window that can be anywhere from a month to three months (or more!) to account for returns and comp adjustments. LTK pays out through PayPal so be sure and set that up prior.
In short, LTK is a great tool to monetize your content as an influencer. However, it’s just one small piece to becoming a full time blogger that gets paid. With millions of users flooding the app each day, you must be strategic and produce high quality graphics to turn your passion into profit!
